The Newair x Boveda 500 Count Cigar Humidor provides superior cigar storage.

The adjustable pegging system offers a secure fit for a variety of cigar sizes, while drawer dividers attractively hold boxes or solitary cigars.

With a recessed top handle, accessing your collection is simple.

This humidor is the embodiment of a cigar aficionado’s needs, combining sophistication with utility.

  3. Flexible Storage: 2 removable dividers for boxes/sticks.
  4. Easy Access: Top recessed handle for door use.

Packaging

This newair NCH840 arrived packaged in a huge cardboard box.

The humidor is totally encased by foam panels that were more than an inch thick.

The bottom of the box comes out, so all you have to do is cut the tape and locking threads to raise the outer shell of the humidor and reveal the foam-paneled mechanism.

My machine arrived in immaculate condition, with no dents, dings, scratches, or flaws.

After you remove the foam, simply position the humidor where you want it, open the doors, remove the documentation, keys, and tools, and remove any tape used to secure movable elements, and you’re ready to go.

Set up

The shelves are pre-installed, so after unpacking, all you have to do is attach the handle and plug it in.

The handle attaches easily.

Simply peel backs the rubber seal on the inside of the door, insert two screws, and you’re ready to go.

Seasoning

This humidor is ready to use so you do not have to worry about seasoning.

But in case I wanted to the seasoning First, I fill a small basin with purified water.

It is important to note that you should always use distilled water rather than tap water since it removes any pollutants that could damage the wood or, worse, your cigars.

I then place a clean microfiber or terrycloth towel in the water.

After that, I run the moist towel over every inch, nook, and cranny of any exposed Spanish cedar wood to ensure that it is completely covered.

You don’t have to soak the wood, but applying enough water to make it visible to the eye usually works.

The drawers in the NewAir NCH840 are totally removable, which greatly facilitates this operation and allows simple access to all regions of the wood shelves.

After doing this I close the humidor and let it sit for 24 hours without opening.

Exterior

To obtain more space, the NewAir NCH840 had the walls’ density fine-tuned. It has  a black sleek exterior which looks very significant.

Interior

The drawers are well-crafted and very appealing.

I mean, the entire humidor is noticeably more elegant than earlier models.

The rolling slide technique utilised to place the drawers is excellent, allowing for quick and simple access to all of your favourite cigarettes.

I like how the drawers glide all the way out, allowing you to readily access the ones you keep hidden in the back.

The drawer slide feature provides a nice degree of friction, which locks them in place and keeps them from sliding about while you seek for the right smoking.

Capacity

This is where this one truly shines.

This gadget can hold a lot of cigars.

It’s big. It is not just larger than prior models, but also deeper and higher.

However, the overall size of the unit did not increase significantly.

Humidification System

3 holders for Boveda packs in this humidor offer full humidity control in any climate. Adjusting the Humidifier

This is extremely simple and uncomplicated, so I won’t spend too much time here. Just remember, calibrating the NCH840 is simple.

The top panel constantly displays the current temperature and humidity.

Touching the Mode button allows you to easily adjust the desired temperature and humidity with the up and down buttons.

There are three buttons: one for power, one for converting Fahrenheit to Celsius, and one for turning on and off the internal lighting. That’s it, really.

This 840 count humidor has heating and cooling, as well as its own humidification system, to keep your cigars smoking perfectly.

Temperature Setting

It does have temperature control, and a cool light.

With a humidor this huge, it’s difficult to keep it under control in terms of temperature and humidity, but the NCH840 performs a good job, particularly in the temperature category.

I set my humidor to 64 degrees and 68% humidity.

I assessed the humidor’s performance over a five-day period using calibrated Boveda butler and Xikar hygrometers.

First, regardless of where the sensor was placed in the humidor, I received a consistent temperature reading between 63 and 65 degrees.

This is impressive especially considering my ambient temperatures varied from 62 to 75 degrees in the house during that time.

Compressor cooling and a built-in heater take the hassle out of keeping your cigars fresh.

The thermostat allows you to choose temperatures between 54 and 72 degrees, and double-paned glass doors and a robust seal keep the conditions you’ve chosen.

Your cigars will always be pleasant, regardless of the weather or season in your neck of the woods.

4. Pros & Cons

  • built-in humidification system
  • Humidification Control at the Touch of a Button
  • holds 840 to 500 individual cigars
  • heat or cool with opti-temp
  • led spotlights for every drawer
  • peek-in spanish cedar drawers

Last Words

Honestly, I really like the NewAir NCH840. First, the built-in humidifier is lovely.

It works, and while it isn’t as polished as I would want, it functions well.

When keeping your cigars, just make sure to account for humidity variations.

The temperature is firm.

This was a recurring issue in previous NewAir machines I tested, and the NCH840 has it under control. The storage capacity is fantastic.

I also want to discuss the choices here.

The bottom drawer is massive and ideal for keeping boxed cigars and pipe tobacco tins, while the drawers are wide and deep enough to hold a large number of loose cigars apiece.

All in all, I am happy. My cigars are happy.
